The Hamed Mirzaei Foundation for Arts and Sciences was formulated in 2013 and launched in July 2014 with the support of a number of enthusiastic professionals eager to offer their expertise in promotion of community education.

Founder
Hamed Mirzaei, PhD
Hamed received his PhD at the University of South Florida while studying the role of DNA helicases in genomic stability and cancer. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Southern California on the impact of genetics and diet on age-related diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders. Hamed also designed and taught a course on the public understanding of science at both USF and USC.
Hamed has made science education a priority in his career and strives to find ways to further educate the community outside of traditional academia. He developed The Hamed Mirzaei Foundation as a platform to offer educational opportunities to both traditional students and the local community.
